Resting

This trophy is resting.  Resting from the ones that want to make him a trophy (the hunters).  He’s also resting from the ones he wants to be his trophy (his females)  I took this picture while traveling in Colorado yesterday.

This week I am resting.  Disconnected, no contact with the outside world.  Except to stop in the library here in Westcliffe. Colorado.  I wanted to connect with you.

I’m resting.  Did I say disconnected?  Yes, except from hearing from God.  Tuning out all the world’s happenings, seems to tune in God’s will and direction more clearly. Take time to rest with God. Spend a quiet time, your devotion time, your coffee time with just Him, or if possible, several days in the Colorado wilderness. He leads me to green pastures.  He restores my soul.  Psalms 23

I’m sure the worlds activities will be there when I get back.  Paying bills, everyday chores, AND I also heard about some football activities going on in Mississippi.  Word travels, even in the wilderness.  See YA!  Dan Ainsworth

Advice to young Christians…. staying out of traps with verse

Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers, and blessed is he trusts in the Lord

The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction

Proverbs 16: 20,21

The video this week (featured story) talks about how older Christians are “terrible” at giving advice to others.  Maybe this scripture is a way to improve on this.  Pleasant words promote instruction.  “I told you”, “What are you doing?”, “You need to do what I say”……..  those probably are not the most pleasant words to hear (whether young or old).

When you have the opportunity to give advice, give it from the heart.  Give advice in a caring, loving, concerned way.  That’s being a Christian!

When you have the opportunity to take advice, take it to heart. Take advice in a loving, growing to understand way.  That’s being a Christian!
