Climbing over your Difficulties/ with Verse

Proverbs 4:25-26 New International Version (NIV)

25 Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Give careful thought to the paths for your feet
and be steadfast in all your ways.

What difficulties are you facing?  What is it that you are trying to reach?  We either get stuck because of our fears, or just as bad, we jump head long into a situation, full steam ahead, damn the torpedoes.  If we actually fall, or the fear to fall itself overwhelms us, the results are the same.  We see boulders and CAN’T get the fish.

Study God’s word here.  Don’t just read it, dwell in it…….Live this Scripture.  Make it Come Alive!!!  “Let your eyes look straight ahead”.  What’s God saying here?  Focus on Him. Focus on the passions, desires, and abilities that He has given you.

“Give careful thought to the paths for your feet.”  Whether its providing for your family, reaching out to a new friend, opportunities at your job, obstacles in your marriage, place your feet by thinking about those passions, desires, and abilities God gave you.  Hey, you’re human.  It may feel awkward as you “butt crawl” over those boulders of life.  Those awkward moments at work, in your marriage, with family, friends, yourself, etc., etc.  By keeping your eyes looking straight ahead you see the goal you’re after.  Then you don’t pay the awkward “butt crawlin’” of your life any mind. ( I hope you wear out the back side of your jeans!)

2 Timothy 1:7 verse for The Guide

JourneyQuest guide 'Deniece'

For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  2 Tim 1 :7

I lived that verse yesterday.  Meet my guide, Deniece.  She was full of energy,( love that Native American ‘yell’ she has).  She guided us down the Arkansas River here in Colorado.  She helped us, gave commands as how and when to paddle, shared in life’s experiences, and showed concern when one of our boat riders became a swimmer!  She laughed, sang, and truly was part of our journey.

She reminded me so much of …………. My Spiritual Guide, Jesus!    He shows us through His Holy Spirit that He is full of energy, guides, helps, gives us commands.  He shares, and shows concern for you and me when we “fall out of the boat”.  I don’t know about you, but my Jesus laughs, sings with me, and is truly a part of my journey.

Deniece, keep on with your witness. (yelling  AAYYAAYYAAYYAAYAAYAAYAA!!)

Do you know any guides in your Journey that are examples of Jesus and His Christian ways.  Let me hear from you.  Share in the comments.

2 Timothy 1:7 Are those “claws” sharp?

2 Timothy 1:7

21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

ow lbeak and talons

Am I afraid of those sharp talons and beaks that my falconry birds possess?  No, but there is a great deal of respect given to them.  Using a sound mind (learning about these tools, understanding of the hawk and owls, knowledge of how and when they use these talons) helps lessen the fear and grow the respect.

Am I afraid of the internet?  No, but using a sound mind (learning how this reaches people, sorting wrong from right, understanding how this source of communication can bring Glory to God) helps lessen the fears and grows the respect.

What tools are you using to carry you further on your Christian Journey?  The Bible, prayer, reliable sources on the internet, everyday situations, all provide a way to grow closer to God.

Use these tools.  But stay SHARP!
