Meet Dan
“Hey there! I’m Dan Ainsworth, known as the Wilderness Preacher. I’ve connected with countless people by leading them into the Colorado wilderness.
It was in nature that I found God. Perhaps it was because I was paying closer attention. His revelations came to me watching the surprise reactions of others while flying my falconry birds…, the possibility of eating disgusting fish-sticks at a high-altitude lake, the fly-fishing adventure that turned into watching a maestro conduct his orchestra…., having a most spiritual experience in an 1890s outhouse. All these stories are in this book. Staci, my wife, and I have shared with others our life in the Colorado outdoors.
The comments and testimonials from all who traveled with me prompted me to share their stories, and mine, with you who read this book.

When leading folks into the wilderness, three objectives direct my actions. 1) Have fun! 2) Be safe. 3) Help people experience God by pointing out the often overlooked important happenings on their day-to-day excursions.
Be who God created you to be! Watch closely and listen for Him in everything. Become more aware! Then and only then will you be aware of the sound of rushing water in a pristine mountain valley. You’ll see and even hear the sunset’s calm, painting clouds with vibrant hues. Camp far from civilization, and only then will you taste true freedom.
Then and only then will you be in your own Higher Ground!
